LPPA Reassessment General Guidance

Information about Reassessment

The Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) is awarded for a three-year period after which there is a Reassessment process. The following information outlines this process and how your school can maintain and develop the LPPA during the three years leading to Reassessment.

Keeping your school on track

The LPPA is intended to promote ongoing self-evaluation and development of your school's work with parents. In order to keep 'on track' in the three years between achieving the Award and Reassessment, we strongly recommend that:

  • The school has a designated member of staff responsible for parent partnership.
  • The school maintains a clear responsibility structure for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating its work with parents, in line with the LPPA Objectives.

The Reassessment process

Schools have up to nine months to complete Reassessment.

  1. Self-evaluation. Complete the online LPPA Reassessment Self-Evaluation. Please note there is no paper version of this form. This should be completed within three months of signing the Reassessment agreement.
  2. Evidence. Collect evidence for the portfolio and prepare for verification, referring to the Evidence Requirements list provided. You will need to provide one piece of recent evidence for each KPI in the framework, to show that you have maintained and developed parent partnerships in the school over the three-year period since you last achieved the award. You can choose which format of portfolio is most accessible to you - a paper-based portfolio or the e-portfolio on the AwardPlace platform - and you can mix and match where you store the evidence.
  3. Verification. When you are ready, contact the Awards Office to arrange a Reassessment visit.
  4. Accreditation. The school is accredited for a further three years.

Guidelines for the Reassessment visit

The process will involve a Reassessment verifier and will take approximately 4 hours.

Please download the pdf 'Verification or Reassessment Visit School Guidance' in this section. This contains detailed guidance for the Reassessment Visit.

The completed Reassessment report will be sent to you within five working days.
